Business and Emotions
Reading Time: 1 minute

The common dicton is that we should ignore our emotions while making a business decision. Now, to what extent can an individual really ignore his or her emotions while making a decision is up for discussions? I am one who believe that we can never dissociate ourselves from how we feel. Emotions are essential components of decision making. As Executive, every decision is consequential. We certainly cannot afford to be clouded by our emotions. However, we can never thrive to eliminate our emotions in our decision making process. Certainly, emotions can sometimes cloud our judgement, but at the same, they do provide clarity and a sense of direction.  They are often a reminder of who we are and what is important to us in the long haul. Walking away from our emotions is the first step toward walking away from our principles and purpose.
